Virginia Lee Devena, 82, of Hutchinson, died Nov. 27, 2012, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.
Virginia was born Feb. 18, 1930, at Quapaw, Okla., the daughter of Theodore S. and Stella M. Leudnum Sizemore.
She attended school in Baxter Springs and was a member of Westside Baptist Church. She was a homemaker but had worked for a time at Hutchinson Bag Company and Gibson's in Hutchinson.
She married Stacy Lynn Devena on July 28, 1947, in Columbus, Kan. He survives.
Other survivors include: two sons, Dan Devena and wife Iris of Hutchinson, and James Devena of Agra; a daughter, Laura Simmons and husband Bill of Choctaw, Okla.; a brother, Nick Sizemore; and a sister, Delores Hudson, both of Ridgecrest, Calif.; five granddaughters, Angela Bergmeier and husband Mike, Felicia Latka and husband Josh, Stephanie Devena, Rebekah Zabel and husband Ron, and Marissa Simmons; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Monty Joe Devena in 1975, and a daughter-in-law, Janet Devena.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at Westside Baptist Church, with the Rev. Eldon Smith presiding. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at New Pleasantview Cemetery, near Weir, Kan. A visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. The family will greet friends at 1:30 p.m. until service time Friday at the church.
