Virginia Lee Ewertz, 81, of South Hutchinson, KS, died September 28, 2023, at Hospice House in Hutchinson, KS. She was born August 11, 1942, in Goddard, KS, to Paul H. and Frances E. (Girrens) Robben.
Virginia graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School in Wichita, KS, in 1961. Before returning to this area in 2019, she was a California resident for 53 years, living in Escondido and San Marcos. Virginia worked as an electrical technician at Melles Griot in Carlsbad, CA, for many years. She enjoyed crafting, camping, and playing cards. Virginia was of the Catholic faith.
On February 2, 1963, she married Kenneth M. Ewertz, in Shulte, KS. He died December 10, 2004.
Virginia is survived by: her children, Roxanna Ewertz Krtek (Robert) of San Marcos, CA, Kent Ewertz (Carrie) of Menifee, CA, Nikki K. Hutton (Troy) of Hutchinson, KS; grandchildren, Veronica Madera (Oscar) of Escondido, CA, Samantha Ewertz of Riverside, CA, Matthew Ewertz (Jeani) of Riverside, CA, Emily Krtek of San Marcos, CA, Alex Hutton of Hutchinson, KS; great-grandchildren, Lakai Madera, Adaline Ewertz; siblings, Sheila Guerra (Virgil) of Springdale, AR, Donna Kay Ahne (Mike) of Conway Springs, KS, Paul Robben (Kathy) of Wichita, KS; and many extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Harvey Robben.
Parish Rosary will be 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., Thursday, October 5, 2023, both at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 612 S. Maple, South Hutchinson, KS.
Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, 1-5 p.m. Sunday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday thru Wednesday, with the family present to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and HomeCare of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
