Virginia Ruth (Gilger) Hedge, 79, of Hutchinson, died September 1, 2019, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.  She was born May 29, 1940, in Logan, KS, to Clarence George and Lela Lucille (Tasker) Gilger.

Virginia was a 1957 graduate of Miltonvale Wesleyan College and a 1959 graduate of Brown-Mackie College, Salina.  She was employed by Midwest Iron and Metal Company Inc. as the Business Office Manager and retired after 19 years of service.  Virginia was a member of the Elmdale Community Center Crochet Angels group that crochets blankets, lap robes, scarves, booties, and mittens that are given away to young and old.

She is survived by:  brother, Don (Laura) Gilger, Emporia; sons, Troy (Cheryl) Hedge, Royse City, TX, Ernest (Tina) Hedge, Alvin, TX; grandchildren, Joshua Hedge, Killeen, TX, Jeremy (Amy) Hedge, Hutchinson, Ryan Hedge, Steilacoom, WA, Paul Hedge, Fort Collins, CO, and Kristen Hedge, Green Bay, WI; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation has taken place.  Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Monday, September 9, 2019, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson.  Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.  Family will greet friends from 2 p.m. to service time on Monday.
