Virginia M. Heymoss, 85, died Feb. 12, 2016, at Dillon Living Center, Hutchinson. She was born Sept. 22, 1930, in Ann Arbor, Mich., to William and Verna (Schoenhals) Kern.
Virginia graduated from Ann Arbor High School in 1948 and the University of Michigan in 1952. Virginia was a devoted teacher and homemaker and member of Trinity United Methodist Church. On June 16, 1956, she married John Heymoss in Detroit, Mich. He died Oct. 1, 1995. Survivors include: daughters, Jennifer Heymoss, Jacqueline Long and husband Douglas, all of Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Geraldine Kern.
Cremation has taken place. A gathering for family and friends will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016, in the Warner Wing at Trinity United Methodist Church, 17th and Main, Hutchinson, with the Reverend Michael McGuire officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Mich. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through Saturday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
