Obituary

Virginia "Ginny" Lee Brady, 84, died November 4, 2024, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born June 15, 1940, in Denver, CO, to Michael Farrell and Rita Anne (Johnson) Heffernan.

Virginia graduated from Marquette Catholic School, Tulsa in 1958, she then attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman. Virginia worked as a travel agent for First Travel Agency in Hutchinson, and as a bookkeeper for Palco, KS, Inc.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing all kinds of card games, watching sports, especially baseball, traveling and going to casinos. Above all, Virginia loved time spent with her family.

On August 15, 1960 she married Stanley J. Brady in Tulsa. They later divorced. Later on, she shared her life with Tom Weems.

Virginia is survived by: her children, Steve (Sheila) Brady, and Doug (Charlene) Brady; siblings, Kathy (Charlie) Parker, Miggie McKillip, Sharon Wright, and Michael (Candy) Heffernan; grandchildren, Ryan, Luke, Madison, and Jocelyn; and great-grandchildren, Malachi Brady-Teater, Shelbi and Levi Brady and Jaylen Seburn.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Michael and Rita Heffernan; sister, Anne; grandson, Joel; brothers-in-law, Larry, Mike, Todd, and Rob; husband, Stanley Brady; and companion, Tom Weems.

Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will take place in the Spring in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, for their wonderful support and care provided during Virginia's stay.
