Virginia Ione Link, 86, died Dec. 17, 2005, at Elm Grove Estates, Hutchinson.
She was born Sept. 19, 1919, in rural Bartlett, the daughter of Harold Holman and Minnie Etta Clark Leap. She attended Chase High School until the 11th grade and graduated from Caldwell High School in 1937. She graduated from Dague Business College in 1938. A Hutchinson resident for the last 10 years, formerly of Chase, she was a homemaker.
She was a member of Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson; St. Mary's Catholic Church; St. Mary's Altar Society; and St. Mary's School Lunch Program, all of Chase.
On Nov. 3, 1938, she married Robert Leo Link in Caldwell. He died Nov. 22, 2002.
Survivors include: a son, Randy Link and wife Shela, Hutchinson; two daughters, Barbara Phelan and husband Patrick, Meeker, Colo., Deanna DeVore and husband Neal, Oroville, Calif.; a brother, Harold Dale Leap, Grove, Okla.; a sister, Jean Kolarik, Caldwell; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert Lynn; and an infant daughter, Mary Jill.
Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Church of Holy Cross, Hutchinson, with Father Joseph Eckberg presiding. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery, Chase, with Father Juan Garza presiding. Cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the mortuary.
Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be sent to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or Hospice of Reno County, all in care of the mortuary.
