Virginia Marie "Ginny" Woods, 92, of Hutchinson, died Nov. 28, 2010, at Dillon Living Center, Hutchinson.

She was born Sept. 4, 1918, in Rice County, Kan., to Ernest and Clara Edith Hardy Knackstedt.

She was a 1935 graduate of Hutchinson High School and attended Hutchinson Community College. She was a homemaker and a retired clerk for the City Utility Offices. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

She married John Everett Woods Sept. 6, 1936, in Burrton, Kan. He died Dec. 27, 1998.

Survivors include: two sons, Phillip L. Woods and wife Kathleen of Lenexa, Kan., and Robert A. Woods and wife Conni of Atlanta, Ga.; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Woods of Wichita, and Susan Oppenheim of Olathe; and six great-grandchildren, Erin, Emily and Aidan Woods, and Daniel, Will and Billy Oppenheim. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Virgil and Joy Knackstedt, and a sister, Kathryn Willis.

Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum. Hutchinson, with Reverend Jim Rhaesa officiating.

Friends may call 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
