Obituary

Virginia Catherine Wyatt, 98, of Hutchinson, died Sunday, March 12, 2017, at Good Samaritan Village, Hutchinson. She was born Sept. 15, 1918, in Iola, the daughter of Leo and Aletha (Fleeman) Smith.

She was a longtime resident of Hutchinson, and owned and operated the Dairy Queen #1 on East 3rd St. for over 32 years with her husband, Wilbert. Virginia was a member of Temple Baptist Church, Silver Leaf Chapter #464 Order of Eastern Star, and Job's Daughters.

In 1934, Virginia married Wilbert M. Wyatt in Salina. He died July 30, 1988. Survivors include: grandchildren, Brett Wyatt, Eric Wyatt, Brad Brack, David Brack, Steven Brack, Shelley Ewan, Jennifer Boshears, Gerrie D. Sterns, Michael Osterday, Michael Wyatt, Mitchell Wyatt; several great-grandchildren; and several great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her children: Phill F. Wyatt, Virginia L. Brack, Judy A. Stiggins, Jay D. Wyatt; and brothers and sisters.

A memorial graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017, in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, with Pastor Willard Stafford presiding. Friends may sign the memorial book at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Society, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
