Wade D. Pierce, 90, died Nov. 18, 2012, at Hospice House. He was born July 15, 1922, in Brownell, Kan., to Virgil James and Lena Pierce. Wade graduated from Sterling High School in 1940, was a pilot instructor in the Army Air Force and a Masonic Lodge member.
On Sept. 27, 1942, he married Phyllis V. Drolte in Hutchinson. She preceded him in death on Jan. 27, 1998. Wade married Laduska M. Borders on July 30, 1998, in McPherson. She survives. Other survivors include: son, Brent Pierce of Eureka Springs, Ark.; and daughter, Shellie Pierce of Big Canoe, Ga. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Clarice Seybert.
Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, with Pastor Howard Wagler officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today until the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cancer Council of Reno County, Victory In The Valley or Hospice House, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
