Waleed Marwan Shaban, 34, passed November 14, 2024, in Kansas City, MO. He was born October 7, 1990, at Hutchinson Hospital, to Marwan Aref and Alissar Nasr Shaban.
Waleed graduated from Hutchinson High School in 2009. He attended Hutchinson Community College on a football scholarship. He graduated with honors from Wichita State University with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and a minor in computer engineering. Waleed was an entrepreneur and had many businesses including real estate, construction, insurance, and a car dealership. He enjoyed reading books on faith, watching movies, listening to music, and playing the piano. Waleed enjoyed taking things apart and rebuilding them better than before. Waleed was proud to be Lebanese.
He was a loving and devoted, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and cousin. Waleed was very close to his family and friends.
Waleed is survived by: his parents, Marwan and Alissar Shaban of Hutchinson; brother, Moeen (Jenna) Shaban of Andover; sisters, Abeer (Fady) Najjar and Randa (Brad) Wilson, both of Wichita; nieces and nephew, Liam Zerger, Dahlia Shaban, Sophia Najjar, Isabella Najjar, Maya Wilson, and Hannah Wilson; uncles, Ghassan (Nada) Shaban and Radwan (Nisreen) Shaban, both of Hutchinson; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins both in the United States and Lebanon.
He was preceded in death by: his paternal grandparents, Aref and Nazira Shaban; and maternal grandparents, Fouad and Sania Nasr.
Graveside service will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2024, in the Buhler Municipal East Cemetery, 14842 E. 82nd Ave. Buhler. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2024 with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. The casket will remain closed.
Memorials are suggested to Al Nabi Ayyoub Shrine in Lebanon or Horizons Mental Health Center in Hutchinson, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
