Obituary

Walter H. Johns, 93, died Nov. 13, 2005, at Golden Plains Health Care Center.

He was born April 10, 1912, in Woodward County, Okla., the son of Edward and Emma Johns. A resident of Hutchinson since 1942, moving from Oklahoma, he was a carpenter for a private contractor, retiring from the former Stuckey Lumber.

He was a 20-year member of Roving Rebels Camping Club.

On July 7, 1934, he married B. Ruth George in Taloga, Okla. She survives.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers; and two sisters.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Andover Lutheran Church Cemetery, with Pastor Judith Wascher presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Andover Lutheran Church Cemetery.
