KINGMAN - Walter Felix "Sonny" Main, 70, died April 29, 2006, at Kingman Community Hospital.
He was born Dec. 26, 1935, in Sulphur, Okla. the son of Albert Leo and Frances Lou-ise Wilson Main. He attended high school in Hiwasse, Ark., and attended correctional officer training in Jefferson City, Mo. He was a professional truck driver for 47 years.
He belonged to Jesus Christ Church of Latter Day Saints and the Teamsters Union.
On Jan. 22, 1954, he married Helen Ann Spaulding in Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, David and Bridgett, and Kelly and Valerie, all of Denver, and Scott and Kathy, Pineville, Mo.; three daughters, Bitsy and Joe Blazine, Hutchinson, Kristie and Jesse Tovar, Winfield, and Marla and Mike McGovney, Cunningham; three brothers, Richard Carl, Coweta, Okla., Warren, Bentonville, Ark., and Willis, Washburn, Mo.; two sisters, Alberta Colley, Rogers, Ark., and Wilma Keene, Pineville, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and 137 foster children.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Karroll Grizzle.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, with Bishop Richard Knapp and Pastor Mike McGovney presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Kingman.
