Wanda H. Brohammer, 84, died July 20, 2007, at Pleasant View Home, Inman.
She was born Feb. 19, 1923, in Cushing, Okla., the daughter of A.T. and Letha Abercrombie McClure. She was a longtime resident of Hutchison, moving from Wellington. She graduated from Carmen (Okla.) High School in 1941 and attended one year at Oklahoma A&M. She retired from being the secretary at the Kansas Department of Transportation. She was a volunteer at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Phi Beta Psi Sorority.
On April 26, 1945, she married Carl Brohammer, in Vallejo, Calif. He died Jan. 22,1970.
Survivors include: a son, Dennis Brohammer, Wichita; a daughter, Carla Simmons and her husband, Bill, Cheney; two brothers, David McClure, Sulphur Springs, Ark., and John McClure, Washington, D.C.; five grandchildren, Rich Simmons, K.C. Simmons, Peder Simmons, Jennifer Blevins and Christina Fowler.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and an infant son, Jerry Douglas Brohammer.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Fairlawn Burial Park with the Rev. Mark Conard presiding. Friends may call between 1 and 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.
