Obituary

Warren R. Wintamute, 90, died Sunday, July 29, 2012. He was born in Dodge City May 25, 1922, the son of Russell D. and Evelyn Mae Reekie Wintamute.

He was a 1940 graduate of Dodge City High School, a salesman for Rainbo Baking, Co. for 41 years retiring in 1985, then for 15 years worked part time at the Kansas State Fair.

On Sept. 9, 1942, he married N. Maxine Johnson in Jetmore.

Other survivors include: their children and spouses, Richard and Jeannie, Inman, and Sherry and Mick Ellis, Hutchinson, a sister; Lorea Rach, Seattle, Wash.; four grandchildren, Ronda and Robert Hanneman, Brian and Teresa Ellis, Tracie and Troy England, and Shelly and Paul Reusser; eight great-grandchildren, Kayla, Jakeb and Samuel England, Gavin Ellis, Ryan Hanneman, and Allison, Luke and Leah Reusser.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Howard; three sisters, Irene Roney, Marie Abrahms, and Virginia Shira and a great-grandson, Corey Hanneman.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at Elliott Chapel, with Chaplain David Denlinger officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday with family present 6 to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Hospice Care of Kansas or Mennonite Friendship Manor, in care of the mortuary.
