Wayne Virl Bishop, 61, died September 24, 2009 at Pleasant View Home in Inman.

He was born June 4, 1948 in Hutchinson, the son of Jess Albert and Elva Pearl Kerns Bishop. He was an avid guitar player and enjoyed playing with his band Home Cookin'.

He is survived by two daughters, Maureen Phillips of Hutchinson and Colleen Bishop of Wichita, his father, Jess Bishop of Hutchinson, two stepdaughters, Stefani Kelly and Crystal Magyar both of Wichita, three sisters, Carol Heisler of Kingman, Connie Constant and Christine Rounds both of Hutchinson, grandson, Taylor Wilson and granddaughter Brandi Phillips both of Hutchinson and one great granddaughter Brenlyn Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his mother Elva Pearl Bishop.

Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2009, at Elliott Chapel with Pastor Matt Stafford presiding. Friends may sign the book 9 to 9 Saturday through Monday at Elliott Mortuary.
