Obituary

LINCOLN, Neb. - Wayne Allen Blue, 73, died March 19, 2007, at his home in Lincoln, Neb.

He was born March 16, 1934, in Colorado, the son of Byron M. and Beatrice Vivian Marshall Blue. He was a 1952 graduate of Arlington High School. A resident of Lincoln, Neb., since 2003, formerly a resident of Arlington since 1952, he retired from Kansas Department of Transportation after 30-plus years of service.

He was a member of Kansas Horseman Association and Horseman Benevelant Protective Association in Nebraska He served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve.

On Jan. 14, 1954, he married Cleda V. Pike in Sterling. She died Feb. 7, 2001. On Sept. 4, 2003, he married Lori Burge-McKee. She survives.

Other survivors include: four daughters, Roxanna Lynn Zenner, Goddard, Virginia Lorene Mitzner, Abbyville, Joanie Waynell Oller, Partridge, Vivian Gayle Stucky, Sedgwick; a stepdaughter, Kitti Nienhueser; a brother, Byron Blue Jr., Wichita; two sisters, Joan Knight, Hutchinson, and Wilda Enoch, Phoenix, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three step-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by two grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Keith Dellenbach presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at the mortuary. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Partridge Cemetery.
