Wayne E. Brawner, Jr, 74, of Hutchinson, died June 29, 2024, at his home.  He was born January 3, 1950, to Wayne E and Rhea Dewater Brawner, Sr, in Waterloo, IA.

He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1968.  After graduation, he served in the US Navy aboard the USS Midway in Vietnam.  Wayne began working for the Kansas Department of Corrections in 1973 retiring in 2009.

On March 27, 1973, he married Janet Proctor in Hutchinson.  They shared just over 51 years together.  She survives.

Wayne is survived by: wife, Janet of Hutchinson; and son, Scott and his wife Jeni of Castle Rock, Colorado.

As per his wishes, there will be no funeral services. Cremation has taken place.
