Wayne "CW" Devena, 76, passed away Dec. 5, 2014, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. At the time of his passing he was surrounded by his loving family.

Wayne was born to Ernest Edward and Mary Marie (Daniels) Devena in Weir, KS on June 24, 1938. He was raised around the Hutchinson area most of his life. Wayne and his wife, Sally, moved to the farm on the outskirts of Buhler, where they lived for 49 years. He built his Auto Body Shop and ran it for 27 years, which he continued to run until he became sick.

Wayne also raced cars, which he built and ran himself around Hutchinson, Wichita, and Salina. Then he joined the Pool League, which he also enjoyed.

He is survived by: his wife, Sally (Garcia) Devena; daughters, Tammy Devena of Medora, and Debbie Butterfield of Baxter Springs; grandchildren, Shawn (Lindsey) Borders, Tarynn Borders, Amber (John) Hunt, Katie, Mindy, and Jennifer Butterfield, and Maguire and Elise Dyson; a great-grandson, who Wayne referred as his "Lil-Man" Ivan; a great-granddaughter Alexis; brother, Darold Devena; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Tina Devena.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
