Wayne G. Engler, 74, died Feb. 2, 2012, at his home. He was born Nov. 18, 1937, in Marinette, WI, to George and Esther (Schnell) Engler.

He served in the United States Navy for 25 years, retiring in 1983. He also retired from the Hutchinson Correctional Facility and was a member of the Church of the Holy Cross. Wayne married Judith Ruth Rasmussen on July 6, 1963, in Oshkosh, Wis. She survives. Other survivors include: a son, Robert Engler of Lemon Grove, Calif.; daughter, Catherine Engler of Oceanside, Calif.; grandson, Johnathan Considine; great-grandson, Dominic Considine.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at the Church of Holy Cross with Father Joseph Eckberg officiating. Burial will be in the Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to the church, in care of the mortuary.
