Wayne Leon Kasselman, 75, died Sept. 23, 2014, at Thorne Care Center, Hutchinson. He was born Nov. 25, 1938, in Hutchinson, to Charles and Anna (Malcolm) Kasselman.
He married Mary Ann Spangler on Oct. 10, 1959, in Hutchinson. She died April 2, 2009. Wayne was a foreman and welder for Kansas Gas Service for 44 years before retiring in 2002. He was a very active member of First Baptist Church, serving on many boards and helping out wherever he was needed.
He married Virginia Mae Adams on Jan. 10, 2011, in Hutchinson. Survivors include: his wife, Virginia Kasselman; son, Monty Kasselman and wife Avona of Russellville, Ark.; daughter, Marcy Kasselman of Overland Park; stepson, Troy D. Spellman of Sylvia; stepdaughter, Tonya D. Spellman of Chandler, Ariz.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Agnes Duncan and June Schwartz, both of South Hutchinson; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends. He was preceded in death by: his parents; sisters, Lorene Johnson and Marjory May; and brothers, Kenneth, Gerald and Donald Kasselman.
A Celebration of Life service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, at First Baptist Church, Hutchinson, with Pastor Tyler Vance presiding. A private family burial will be held in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with the family to receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
