Obituary

Wayne Wineinger, beloved husband, best friend and uncle, 54, died July 28, 2007, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.

He was born Aug. 24, 1952, in Anthony, the son of Harold W. and Rogene L. Clawson Wineinger. He graduated in 1970 from Norwich High School, in 1972 from Garden City Community College, and in 1976 from Kansas State University. He worked for 17 years as the Garvey Elevator manager, Anness, then nine years in maintenance for the Public Housing Authority at the South Hutchinson High Rise.

He belonged to the South Hutchinson United Methodist Church and the Sons of the American Legion.

On Oct. 20, 1979, he married Kristi Rachelle Buck in South Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: a brother, Winn and wife, Michelle, Norwich; a father-in-law, Albert Buck Jr., Hutchinson, a mother-in-law, Darlene Buck, South Hutchinson; a brother-in-law, Kendall Buck and wife, Michelle, Hutchinson; two sisters-in-law, Becky Wineinger Hartley, Wellington, and Kim Strawn and husband, Wayne, Walton; nine nieces and nephews, Tyler and Chelsea Buck, Kiley and Kenzy Strawn, Joshua Wineinger, Jocelyn and Karalyn Simmons, Dalen Smith and Brandon Hutchinson; and cousins, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and a brother, Wallace Wineinger.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at South Hutchinson United Methodist Church, with Pastor Tim Ault-Duell presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Abbyville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the South Hutchinson United Methodist Church or the American Diabetes Association, both in care of the funeral home.
