Wilbur O. "Bill" Burnett, 92, died Feb. 22, 2006, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
He was born Oct. 15, 1913, in New London, Iowa, the son of Benjamin Harris and Odessa Barker Burnett. A Hutchinson resident since 1949, moving from Kansas City, Mo., he was a 30-year employee of Ark Valley Electric Company, retiring in 1979 as a lineman.
He belonged to Eastwood Church of Christ. He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran of World War II.
On March 14, 1939, he married Flossie E. Cash in Alton, Mo. She died Aug. 25, 1986.
Survivors include: a sister, Juanita Mahar, Apache Junction, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer and Chester; and two sisters, Maxine Cash and Elbertine Bouge.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Wayne DeWindt presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military graveside services conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard.
