Wilburn J. Richardson's Obituary
SOUTH HUTCHINSON - Wilburn J. Richardson, 79, died Aug. 12, 2007, at the Good Samaritan Center, Hutchinson.
He was born Aug. 6, 1928, in Southland, Texas, the son of Sam Jones and Mary Ellen Gentry Richardson. He was a longtime resident of the Abbyville and Arlington areas, moving to South Hutchinson in 2005. He was the owner and operator of Richardson Tree Service and did general contracting work.
On July 10, 1948, he married Norma Jean Davis in Hutchinson. She died Dec. 20, 2006.
Survivors include: a son, Garry W., Hutchinson; a daughter, Vicki L. Manuel, Wichita; two brothers, James A. and Dickie W., Hutchinson; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandson.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Marvin, Sam Jr., Billy, John and Bobby; six sisters, Helen Wimbish, Margie Vicars, Julia Gibson, Doris Hemphill, Mary Jo Pederson, and Jewel Richardson.
Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Keith Dellenbach presiding. Friends may sign the guestbook from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place.
Memorials may be sent to Hospice Care of Kansas or Hospice of Reno County, in care of the mortuary.
