Wiley Lee VanHoose, 83, died September 1, 2023, at his home in Abbyville, with his wife and son by his side.  He was born June 19, 1940, in Fairland, OK, to Joe Dennis and Luchendia (Hunter) VanHoose.

Wiley graduated from Abbyville High School in 1958. He retired from Cessna/Eaton after over 40 years of service. Wiley enjoyed camping and was a member of Abbyville Community Church.

On July 15, 1959, he married his high school sweetheart, Beulah Rush, in Hutchinson.

Wiley is survived by: his bride of 64 years, Beulah VanHoose of Abbyville; son, Clay VanHoose (Cammie Elliott) of Hutchinson; grandsons, Jake Norquist and David VanHoose; and great-granddaughters, Lillian VanHoose and Truvy VanHoose.

He was preceded in death by:  his parents, a son, Michael VanHoose; and a brother, Charles VanHoose.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Cancer Council or Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS  67501.
