William K. "Bill" Erickson, Jr, 65, died September 27, 2012, at his home. He was born December 22, 1946, in Kansas City, MO, the son of William K. Erickson, Sr. and Edna Mae Erickson. Bill graduated from Buhler High School in 1965 and attended Hutchinson Community College. He was a Vietnam veteran serving with the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. St. Paul from 1967-1969. He was the owner of Erickson Construction Co. for 34 years. Bill was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, snow skiing, water skiing, camping and boating. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
On August 20, 1967, he married Karen Kaye Wolfe in Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include: two children, Carl Erickson and wife Melody, and Carrie Wellman and husband John; a brother, Don Erickson and wife Sandy; and six grandchildren he was so very proud of, Wyatt, Craytan and Berkley Erickson, Ella, Emily and Nolan Wellman.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In honor of Bill's wishes there will be no formal services, a graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at Andover Lutheran Cemetery, (14 miles north of 30th on Plum Street to Dakota Road and one mile east to 1st Ave and south to the cemetery) with Minister Jonas Bontrager presiding. Cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the book 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
