BUHLER - William W. "Bill" Heim Jr., 76, of Buhler, died May 10, 2011, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
He was born March 20, 1935, in Turon, Kan., to William Walter and Clare Mae Featherhoff Heim Sr.
He was a lifetime Reno County resident. He retired after 22 years from Jackson Ice Cream in 1998 and Bond Bakery in 1976. He loved spending time with his family and fishing and camping. He was a member of Union Valley Bible Church.
On Nov. 27, 1953, he married Doris Dyche in Hutchinson, Kan. She survives.
Other survivors include: son, Alvin Heim and wife Esmeralda of Hutchinson; daughters, Shirley Brunn and husband Paul of Hutchinson and Lori Howard and husband Charlie of Hutchinson; brother, Jess Heim and wife Cheryl of Hutchinson; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Alan Eugene, brothers, Jack and Walter, and sister, Alberta.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2011, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Steve Hodgson officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Elliott Mortuary. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
Memorials may be sent to Hospice House and Dillon Nature Center in Hutchinson, in care of the mortuary.
