William Edward Canfield, 60, died Oct. 27, 2015, at his home in McPherson. He was born Dec. 8, 1954, in Hutchinson, to William Rogers and Jean Marie (Taylor) Canfield.

He was raised as a son in the home of his grandfather and step-grandmother, Ralph G. and Evelyn M. Canfield. He was an owner and operator of his own trucking company. On March 31, 1972, he married Marsha Kruse at Forest Park Presbyterian Church in Hutchinson. They divorced in 1997.

Survivors include: daughters, Christy Jones (Shannon) of Sterling, Alyssa and Breanna Canfield, both of Hutchinson; son, Doug Canfield of Canon City, Colo.; six grandchildren; half-brothers, Wayne Ehret of Texas, Bruce Swanson and Gary Swanson, both of Kansas, Greg Swanson of Minnesota, Wade Canfield of Hutchinson; half-sisters, Linda Richardson of Texas, Diana Stoss of Kansas, Sharon Kelley (Troy) of Sterling; stepbrother, David Dove of Hutchinson; aunts, Cheryl Canfield of Hutchinson, Joan Milene of Leon; and an uncle, Francis Canfield of Augusta. He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents; and a grandson, Layton Rice.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Dick Reynolds presiding. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.
