Obituary

NICKERSON - William D. "Bill" White, 79, died March 7, 2007, at his home, Nickerson.

He was born March 4, 1928, in Hutchinson, the son of William Joachim and Emma Juanita Clifton White. A lifetime area resident, he was a farmer and hedgecutter.

He belonged to First Church of God. He was a U.S. Army sergeant, serving during the Korean Conflict.

On June 29, 1957, he married M. Yvonne Twyman in Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Terry L., Hutchinson; two sisters, Betty Chase, Wichita, and Shirley Hause, Wellington; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherri White.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Church of God with the Rev. John Carney presiding. Cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Saturday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Military funeral rites will be conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard.

Memorials may be sent to the church or Hospice Care of Kansas, Wichita, both in care of the mortuary.
