Obituary

William "Earl" King, 50, died March 28, 2015, at his home in Careyville. He was born July 4, 1964, in Thermopolis, Wyo., to Richard and Patricia (Wise) King.

He served in the United States Army for five years and was known as "Wild Bill." For the last seven years he worked for Morton Salt Company. Earl loved his family and son more than anything. He was the kindest and greatest friend and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Earl loved motorcycles and rock-n-roll.

He married Melissa Dawn-Marie West on Oct. 31, 2008, in Hutchinson. She survives. Other survivors include: a son, Mykal King, of the home; stepson, David Rodgers; sister, Alanna King; and his best friend, Rodger Williamson, all of Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Timothy Evans presiding. The casket will remain closed. The family requests friends come in casual dress with jeans and leathers welcome. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. Friends may sign the book Wednesday until service time on Saturday at Elliott Mortuary.
