Obituary

William F. Edwards, 73, died March 7, 2007, at his home, Hutchinson.

He was born Feb. 8, 1934, in Wichita, the son of Harry Burton and Vera Irene Glover Edwards. A resident of Hutchinson since 1951, moving fom Haven, he had worked for 18 years at Consolicated Manufacturing, retiring in 1991, then was a self-employed truck driver from 1991 to 1996.

He was an avid gardener and member of the Community Garden Club. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserve.

On March 17, 1951, he married Dorothy Lee Hoffman in Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: two sons, Gary A. and his companion Rochele and Willian L. "Billy," all of Hutchinson; a daughter Connie Sue Elliott and her husband Jim, Maize; a brother, Bob, Marquette; four sisters, Peggy Green, Hutchinson, Carolyn Evans, Haviland, Sue Patterson, Harper and Sally Oberle, Ellsworth; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Sara Davis Blodgett presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Sunday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
