Obituary

SOUTH HUTCHINSON - William Adolphus Fair, 96, died April 5, 2006, at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson.

He was born June 10, 1909, in Reno County, the son of William Adolphus and Ida Lena Nelson Fair. A lifetime Reno County resident, he graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1927, and attended Kansas State Agriculture College. He was a farmer, retiring after 68 years of service.

He was a member of the Buckeye School Board, Board of the Whiteside Co-op and Reno Consumers Co-op, and was Beef project leader for Partridge 4-H Club.

On Aug. 14, 1938, he married Maryalma Liscum in Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Gary L. and his wife, Linda, Wellington; two daughters, Kay Fair, Columbia, Mo., and Joyce Bos, Platteville, Wis.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters, Myrtle Shapley, Pearl Durham, Lena Baker, Julia Ann Detter, John Fair, Sicily Ann Uht, and James Clifford Fair.

Memorial Graveside Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the register book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, and from 9 a.m. to noon Friday, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Cremation has taken place.
