William "Bill" H. McConnell, 73, died Sept. 27, 2008, at Kingman Community Hospital, Kingman.
He was born July 6, 1935, in Hutchinson, the son of Harold "Mac" and Helen Rodine McConnell.
He graduated in 1953, from Hutchinson High School. A lifetime resident of Hutchinson, he was a roofer and crew foreman for Hamilton Roofing, for 40 years.
He served in the U.S. Army National Guard, Hutchinson Unit.
Survivors include: a son, Scott, Wichita; two daughters, Shaunda Golden, Vancouver, Wash., and Kristen Otto and her husband Andy, Yukon, Okla.; five brothers, Jay Dee, Dale, Larry, and Doug, all of Hutchinson, and Lorin, Henderson, Nev.; two sisters, Cheryl McConnell, Haysville, and Caryl Woerz, Hutchinson; five grandchildren, Tiffany, T.J., Christopher, Nathan, and Hailey; and a great-granddaughter, Riley.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday Oct. 1, 2008, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with Pastor John Warring presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 30, 2008, at the mortuary, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum.
