Obituary

WOODSIDE, N.Y. - William H. "Skip" Meyer III, 53, of Woodside, N.Y., formerly of Hutchinson, died June 26, 2008, at Manhattan VA Hosp, N.Y.

He was born Aug. 24, 1954, at St. Albans Naval Hospital, St. Albans, N.Y., the son of William H. "Bill" Meyer and Connie Lewis Meyer.

He attended K-12 in Hutchinson Schools and Hutchinson High School.

He was the owner of Poor Boy Records, Hutchinson selling in 1992, held several jobs in Janitorial Supplies and Sales and drove a truck for the US Mail, after moving to New York City in 2004 where he worked in building maintenance and was the superintendent and porter for a 120 unit apartment building.

He belonged to Trinity United Methodist Church in Richmond Hill, N.Y. He was a US Navy Vietnam veteran, serving for four years.

Survivors include: his father, South Hutchinson; brother, Arthur C. "Butch" Meyer, Salina; sisters, Kristi K. Baldwin, Hutchinson, Kelly P. Seibel, Pretty Prairie; step brother, Richard W. "Rick" Lamberth, Kansas City, Mo.; stepsister, Patricia G. Lamberth, Hutchinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Connie K. Brazeal, and step mother, Adeline P. "Addie" Meyer.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday July 14th at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Tom Dillwith officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Cremation has taken place. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, with military graveside honors conducted by the U.S. Naval Honor Guard.

Memorials may be sent to American Diabetes Association or Trinity United Methodist Church, Richmond, N.Y., in care of the funeral home.
