William Fidel "Bill" Pina, 58, died Oct. 7, 2006, at his home, Hutchinson.
He was born March 23, 1948, in Hutchinson, the son of Amado Pina Jr. and Mercedes Figueroa Pina. He graduated from Hutch-inson High School in 1966. A lifetime Hutchinson resident, he was an employee of the Santa Fe Railroad and Hutchinson Hospital.
He belonged to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and was a member of the Santa Fe Railroad Union. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving as a SP4(T) with the U.S. Army Airborne from 1967 to 1973.
Survivors include: five brothers, Victor Pina and wife, Jackie, Hutchinson, Arthur Pina and wife, Cecilia, Hutchinson, Arnold Pina, Hutchinson, Amado Pina III and wife, Teresa, Wichita, and Marty Pina, Wichita; and two sisters, Rosemary Aleman and husband, Robert, and Laura Rangel, both of Hutchinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents, Amado Pina Sr. and Josephina Rosa Figueroa.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson, with Father Ned J. Blick presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with military graveside rites conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard.
