William Archie Sanderson, 85, died Nov. 5, 2007, at Hutchinson Hospital ICU.
He was born July 14, 1922, at Goodland, the son of Edward and Grace Ione Jackson Sanderson. He attended and graduated from Hutchinson High School 1940 and then attended Hutchinson Community College. In 1947 he graduated from Denver University, Denver, Colo. He was a longtime resident of Hutchinson. He was a accountant formerly with Pierce Faris and Co., Kansas Farmers Service, Lindburg & Vogel and Michael Porter CPA, of Hutchinson. He retired in 1987 from Beattie Co-op, Beattie.
He belonged to First United Methodist Church and was a member of American Legion Lysle Rishel Post No. 68 and the Highland Golf & Supper Club. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, in the 454th Bombardment Group.
On April 28, 1945, he married Maxine White in Texas City, Texas. She survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters, Cynthia Bossemeyer, Wichita, Cathy Rayl and husband Scott, Hutchinson; one brother, Roy Sanderson, Gunnison, Colo.; five grandchildren, Aaron Rayl, J.P. Rayl, Brandi Rayl, Tallie Ewing and husband Jeffery, and Steva Bossemeyer, and three great-grandchildren, Jaylen Ewing, Javante Ewing and Maddison Rayl.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Vernon, and one sister, Esther Might.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday Nov. 8, 2007, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson.
A private graveside service will be held for the family, with Pastor Mark Conard presiding.
Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
