Obituary

William 'Bill' Ward Day, Jr., 94, of South Hutchinson, died November 19, 2020, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson.  He was born April 5, 1926, in Pretty Prairie, to William Ward and Emma Rose (Wenzel) Day, Sr.

Bill served in the United States Army Air Corps during World Ward II.  He was a farmer and worked as a general contractor.

Bill married Frances Agda Caroline Johnson on August 6, 1950, at the Evangelical Covenant Church, Lindsborg.  They shared over 63 years of marriage, prior to her death on May 11, 2014.

Bill is survived by a sister, Frances Wilson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by:  his parents; wife, Frances Day; brothers, James Day, Marion Day, Joe Day, and Lester Day; and sisters, Louise Elizabeth Freeman, Lena Rose Parkhurst, Ione Legleiter, and Laura Duncan.

No services are planned at this time.  Private burial will be at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Lindsborg.  Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501, is in charge of arrangements.
