Wilma June Bachus' Obituary
Wilma June Bachus, 89, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012. She was born at Sterling, Jan. 29, 1923, the daughter of Simon and Sybil Josephson Schmucker.
She was a graduate of Abbyville High School, Sterling College and Emporia State University. June was an educator, teaching in Abbyville, Sylvia and Graber Elementary, then was principal at McCandless and Winans, a member of Abbyville Community Church and a volunteer at Reno County Museum.
On April 1, 1944, she married Cloyce R. Bachus in Abbyville. He died Oct. 2, 2001. She is survived by: a son, Terry and his wife Kay of Green Mountain Falls, Colo.; two grandsons, Ty and Tawne; and three great-grandchildren, Paxson, Dante' and Rylee. She was preceded in death her parents; and a brother, Jay Schmucker.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, at Elliott Chapel with Pastor Joyce Beam officiating. Her register book will be available to sign from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Elliott Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Abbyville Community Church or Mennonite Manor, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
