Wilma Jean Seitnater Barnes, 88, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016, at Buhler Sunshine Meadows. She was born March 28, 1927, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Peter Thomas and Irene Francis (Strothman) Jacobs.
She was a graduate of St. Teresa's High School, a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church, the Altar Society and a former member of Women of the Moose #1371. Jean was a supervisor for Hutchinson National Bank, retiring in 1989.
She was married to Albert "Abe" Joseph Seitnater. He died July 28, 1983. On Sept. 30, 1989, she married James Grant Barnes. He died May 1, 1999. Survivors include: her children and spouses, Jim Seitnater (Theresa), Sue Roepka (Greg), Julie Ashens (Larry), all of Hutchinson, LuAnn Wood of Grand Prairie, TX,; a sister, Rosemary Cole of Mission; nine grandchildren, Matt (Chylene), Andy (Lindsey), Allen (Kelly), Joe (Meggan), Blake (Sara), Chris, Sarah, Jacob, Megan (Devin); and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Kenny Jacobs.
Parish rosary will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, followed by Funeral Mass at 2 p.m., both at St. Teresa's Catholic Church, with Father Michael Maybrier officiating. Inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Her register book will be available from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary.
