Obituary

Wilma Marie Benson, 97, died Sept. 22, 2006 at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson.

She was born Aug. 26, 1909 in Bonner Springs, the daughter
of Oscar Murrey and Alberta O. Oliphant Jones. She attended Hutchinson public schools. A longtime Reno County resident, she had worked for Richards-Scheble Candy Factory, was a sales clerk at Wiley's Department Store and was co-owner and operator of "The Hutch" drive-in, South Hutchinson.

She belonged to Castleton Union Church.

On Jan. 7, 1933, she married Jared Schuyler Benson in Enid, Okla. He died Nov. 15, 2000.

Survivors include: a daughter, Beverly Ann Goering, Galva; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Glenna Jo Helzer; and five brothers, Chester O., E.D. "Pete", D.W. "Dutch", Wilber S. and Kennith O. Jones

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson with the Rev. Robert Ulrich presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lonestar Cemetery, Pretty Prairie.
