SOUTH HUTCHINSON - Wilma Clarine Johnson, 86, died Jan. 3, 2009, at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson.
She was born Sept. 5, 1922, in Iola, the daughter of Jesse John and Iva Louise Overmeyer Heldebrant.
She graduated in 1940, from Iola High School, Iola. A longtime resident of Hutchinson, she retired in 1991, as a records clerk for Hutchinson Correctional Facility. She belonged to Park Place Christian Church, and the E.H.U.
On June 3, 1940, she married Thomas N. "Tom" Johnson in Iola. He died June 19, 2006.
Survivors include: a son, Jay Johnson and wife Tammy, Hutchinson; a daughter, Kay Southards and husband Ron, South Hutchinson; a granddaughter, Chanin Aumiller and husband David; and two great-grandchildren, Dallas Aumiller and Chiann Aumiller.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Heldebrandt; and a sister, Jessie Smith.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, in Eastside Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Kim Biery presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
