Wilma Mae Shackelford, 80, died Jan. 3, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Center.
She was born Aug. 10, 1927, in rural Yoder, the daughter of A.H. and Blanche Wilhite Hammond. She graduated from Cranford College in 1985. A longtime resident of Yankee Run at Kanopolis Reservoir, she was a waitress at the former George's Cafe and Elwood Cafe, and retired as administrative assistant from Central Kansas Area Vo-Tech Center.
She was a Methodist.
Survivors include: two sons, Clay W. and his wife Kristy, and Dale E. "Pete" and wife Suzanne, all of Hutchinson; a stepbrother, Jim Toller, England; a grandson, Wesley Clay Shackelford, Wichita; and a longtime companion, Al Bauer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Leroy Hadad; a sister, Alberta Alstatt; two stepbrothers, Clarence and Orville Toller; a stepsister, Mable Ashley; and a grandson, Matthew Shackelford.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Art Maddock presiding. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to noon Monday at the mortuary. Private family graveside service will be held.
