Wilma J. Spangler, 82, died March 25, 2007, at Hutchinson Hospital.
She was born Sept. 29, 1924, in Tonkawa, Okla., the daughter of William H. and Della Esther Mendenhall Johnston. In 1942, she graduated from Hutchinson High School. A longtime Hutchinson resident, she was a homemaker.
She belonged to First Christian Church, Hutchinson. She was also a member of Christian Women's Fellowship and the Jolly Homemaker's Club.
On Sept. 2, 1944, she married Vergil V. Spangler in Hutchinson. He survives.
Other survivors include: a daughter, Janis Gross and husband, Jerry, Hutchinson; and two grandchildren, Vickie Hoskins and husband, George, Amarillo, Texas, and Julie Tarm and husband, Viktor, Wichita; five great-grandchildren; and a niece, Debbie Bogart, Chula Vista, Calif.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church, Hutchinson, with the Rev. John Warring presiding. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.
