Wilma Ruth Sweet, 94, died on September 8, 2023, at Pleasant Hills, Hutchinson. She was born July 17, 1929, in Vista, Missouri, to John Logan and Nellie (Kelley) Peery.

Wilma graduated high school in Missouri and went on to earn her associates degree. She was an administrative assistant for many years at USD 308. Wilma was very family oriented and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had the opportunity to travel and live many places while her husband served in the United States Army, including Germany and Africa.

On December 28, 1950, Wilma married Floyd Wallace Sweet. He passed on November 16, 2001.

She is survived by: sons, John Sweet (Gwen) Peel, Arkansas, Robert Sweet, Hutchinson; daughter, Mary Sweet, Hutchinson; 12 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Wilma was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; brother, Warren Peery; and sister, Nadine (Peery) Perkins.

Funeral service will be 1 pm Monday, September 11, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
