Wilma Taylor, 94, of Hutchinson, died March 23, 2015, at Good Samaritan Center. Wilma was born March 1, 1921, to Fredrick A. and Theressa M. Oetting in Sylvan Grove.
On Aug. 29, 1941, she married LeRoy E. Taylor in Wichita. The couple lived on his father's dairy farm in Illinois until 1960 when they moved to Mulvane. LeRoy passed in 1998.
She moved to Hutchinson in 2007. Wilma loved to garden and sew, making Halloween costumes for her kids and many quilts. LeRoy made wooden clocks in quilt block patterns and they would sell them at area craft shows.
Survivors include: sons, James Taylor and wife Betty of Hutchinson, Harold Taylor and wife Christina of Canon City, Colo.; grandson, Brian Taylor of Golden, Colo.; sisters, Bernita Lentz of Hutchinson, Lucinda VonSoosten and husband Virgil of Girard; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LeRoy on Feb. 25, 1998; brothers, Hendes Oetting and Fredrick Oetting; and a sister, Alberta C. "Jackie" Walker.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2015, at Mulvane Cemetery, with Chaplain Amy Claassen presiding. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, all at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Monday at Senter-Smith Mortuary, Mulvane.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Hutchinson Public Library, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
