Dorothy J. Main, 85, died April 15, 2013, at Mennonite Friendship Communities. She was born Sept. 13, 1927, in Chicago, Ill., to Roy O. and Etta M. (McNair) Meadors.
On April 22, 1949, she married Robert Main Jr. in Chicago, Ill. He died Nov. 8, 2002.
A member of the former Northminster Presbyterian Church, she was a church school teacher and belonged to the Tuesday Study Club. Dorothy was a Girl Scout Leader and a Cub Scout Assistant. She was a homemaker and a member of Silver Leaf Chapter #464 Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include: son, Robert D. Main and wife Terri of Hutchinson; daughter, Cathy J. Forbes and husband Jerree of Hutchinson; two brothers, Richard Meadors of Chicago, Ill. and Robert Meadors of Orland Park, Ill.; sister, Patricia Alderate of Lowell, Ind.; six grandchildren, Molly J. Bean, Abby L. Brown, Jeriah Forbes, Meriah Moore, Samuel Forbes and Joseph Forbes; four great-grandchildren, Ethan and Evan Bean, Logan and Palmer Brown. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Borgmann and great granddaughter, Halley Brown.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Jerry Stokely officiating. Private inurnment will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
