Obituary

Detris N. Pruter, 93, died July 31, 2014, at Mennonite Friendship Communi-ties, South Hutchinson. She was born Jan. 29, 1921, in Alpena, Ark., to Henry and Carrie (Watson) Miller.

She married Marcel Pruter in August of 1944 in Amarillo, Texas. He died in January of 1976. Detris was in the Sweet Adelines Chorus, Juco Wives, and the Antiques Collectors Club. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Survivors include: son-in-law, Jim Leatherbury and fiancé Sandy Reed; niece, Thaylia Deck; nephew, Henry Cline, all of Hutchinson; and two granddaughters. She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; daughter, Pamela Leatherbury; son, Jeffrey Pruter; and three sisters.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with Henry Cline presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday through Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Home Care of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS, 67501.
