Leona G. Boyer's Obituary
Leona G. Boyer, 93, died March 25, 2015, at Diversicare of Hutchinson. She was born Sept. 10, 1921, in Dorrance, Kan., to Paul W. Sr. and Ida M. (Bachman) Petty.
Leona graduated from Natoma High School and Salt City Business College. She worked for the Civil Service in Washington, D.C., and Sears, Roebuck and Company in Salina.
On Aug. 14, 1949, she married Joseph H. Boyer in Salina. He died June 26, 1984. Leona moved from Carthage, Mo., to Hutchinson in 1987. She is survived by: siblings, Shirley Unruh of Hutchinson, Francis A. Petty of Weaubleau, Mo., Ina F. Petty of Russell; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her parents; and siblings, Kenneth L. Petty, Duane W. Petty, Donald L. Petty, Paul W. Petty Jr., and Wilma Bricker.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Luray Cemetery, Luray, Kan., with Reverend Jim Rhaesa officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Diversicare of Hutchinson, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
