NICKERSON - Chance Tyler Ramsey, 20, died Saturday, May 9, 2009. He was born April 27, 1989, the son of Jake Ramsey and Diana Leftwich Ramsey.

He was a horse trainer and a Graduate of Nickerson High School, 2008. He had attended Pratt Community College.

He was a member of Kansas State High School Rodeo Association and U.S. Team Ropers Association.

Survivors include: his father, Nickerson; and mother, Elida, Ohio; a brother, Colby, Elida, Ohio; grandparents, Hal and Doris Ramsey, Nickerson, and Susan May, Valley Center; uncles, Mike Ramsey and wife Tiffany, Hutchinson, and Todd Leftwich and wife Shauni, Winfield; an aunt Susan Adkins and husband Troy, Olathe; a great-grandmother, Mary Shiflet, Springdale, Ark.; and six cousins, Sydney and Nick Ramsey, Trent and Ty Adkins, and Sam and Zane Leftwich.

He was preceded in death by a grandfather, Neal Leftwich.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson with Bruce Kaufman and Darryl Peterson presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
