Richard Douglas Mayfield of Hutchinson, was born October 26, 1948, in Hutchinson, Kansas. He was a 1967 graduate of Hutchinson High School. Rick then attended Hutchinson Community College.

On June 23, 1995, he was united in marriage to Kathy Wiese in Hutchinson. They made their home in Hutchinson.

Rick owned Rick Mayfield Construction, building Wick buildings for the past 23 years. Rick lived life to the fullest and enjoyed traveling, golf, and raising fish. His favorite pastime was riding around the farm throwing food to the fish in his ponds. He had many lifelong friends.

Rick passed away at Hospice House on March 2, 2018, with many friends close by. He was preceded in death by his father, Martin Mayfield.

Rick will be deeply missed by: his wife, Kathy; daughters, Lindsey Mayfield of Newport Beach, CA, and Joey Wood of Emporia; brothers, Bill Mayfield (Sarah), and Larry Mayfield, all of Hutchinson; sisters, Ginger Mayfield (Bill Forst) of Hutchinson, and Janet Mayfield (Randy Morse) of Kaslow, British Columbia, Canada; his sweet mother, Erma Mayfield of Hutchinson; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

A celebration of Rick's life will be held from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Hutchinson Art Center, 405 N. Washington.
