Larry Ray Showalter, 79, of Hutchinson, died December 18, 2021, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born February 19, 1942, in Hutchinson, to Ray H. and Lois M. (Meisenheimer) Showalter.

Larry graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1960. He was the owner and operator of Showalter Construction Company and worked in the excavation and trucking industries in Hutchinson and the surrounding area for five decades.

On September 30, 1961, Larry married LaVeda C. Barnes, in South Hutchinson. She survives.

Also surviving are sons, Troy Showalter (Mary Beth) of Topeka, Joe Showalter (Erin) of Haven; grandchildren, Brent, Riley, Shelby, Eli, Addison; sister, Judy Swisher of Kansas City; nephew, Robert Williams of Houston, TX; niece, Rebekah Swisher of Topanga, CA; and many other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Thomas; and sister, Sandra Baccinelli.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Elliott Chapel. Inurnment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday to Monday at Elliott Mortuary.
